For coaches only
A new energetic frontier for the rhythm cycling community…
Music can be the answer, but it can also be the problem. Spotify crossfade is old school and their new mixing technology is full of bugs. Other DJ software makes your brain hurt.
And even if you manage a shaky mix, strategically utilising this new music tool in class remains challenging. How do you coach a room with seamlessly transitioning songs? How does this influence your use of choreography and drills? How do you bring riders into the flow instead of leaving them behind, exhausted?
Welcome to Flow State, a multi-day hybrid training course where you take on rhythm cycling’s energetic frontier with minimal stress and maximum impact. AI technology makes mixing music quick, simple, and intuitive, and structured programming and coaching techniques allow you to truly harness your power.
Hybrid Course Structure
The course is separated into two parts:
Part 1 - Online pre-training via House of Ride’s online academy platform (2 hours of instruction + 4-6 hours of homework, August + September 2026)
Part 2 - 2.5 day live training in Lisbon, Portugal (20 hours, 11-13 September 2026)
In Part 1, the online pre-training, you’ll learn the foundations of AI-supported mixing technology DJ Studio. By the end of Part 1, you’ll be able to mix songs using this technology. All online modules will be on-demand learning via the House of Ride Online Academy available from early August. You can learn at your own pace, however, all modules must be completed before attending the live training.
In Part 2, the live training, you’ll deepen your knowledge of DJ Studio, polishing your music mixing skills with the help of Alvin Moros, Harry French, and Felicia Purperhart. You will also learn coaching and programming techniques for mixed songs, and put these skills into action when demoing to the group. The live training will be physically demanding, with a lot of time spend in the riding studio. By the end of the weekend, you’ll have unlocked a new set of coaching skills with your study cohort.
Part 2, the live training, will take place in Lisbon at studiorise, where Harry teaches weekly.
You’ll Learn How To:
-
Use the foundational features of AI assisted music mixing software.
-
How to mix tracks together at the same BPM.
-
How to mix tracks together when the BPM decreases and increases.
-
How to change the placement of the mix in each song (i.e. the point where each song ends and begins during the mix).
-
How to edit EQs during the mix (adjustment of the high, mid, and bass of each song as they overlap in order to create a smooth, pleasurable, and energising song transition).
-
Programme choreography and drills when coaching mixed songs.
-
Manipulate energy in the room as mixed songs seamlessly transition, creating unforgettable energetic experiences.
-
Each participant will also teach a mix they have made to the group and receive feedback on their music and coaching skills.
